twilight
I am a new Stephenie Meyer fan. Well, really, a Twilight fan. The story is intriguing. Love story between a vampire and a human. Truth be told, I turned a blind eye to all the media hype when the movie first came out. Mr R thought it was just some teen flick and so we didn't bother checking it out. But we watched the dvd on the weekend. I didn't even know that Edward Cullen is Cedric Diggory (Harry Potter) and that he plays the piano. I love just playing on my piano composing any melody in my head so I always have an instant soft spot for actors who does just that in movies i.e. Richard Gere in Pretty Woman and Adultery.
Just got to put a pic of him here. I was embarassed to admit it but after listening to mums professing their obsession for Rob Pattinson on radio a few days ago, I have to admit that I do have a crush on him after watching the show (geez, feels like I'm a teenager again!). I think it's his character though so give me a few weeks and I'll be back to my old self again, fingers crossed.
Oh yea, can you guess? The Twilight saga books are on my reading list after my exam.
The other thing that I have to gush about is the Cullen's House. OMG, jaw dropping wow. I love how it's secluded and its modern minimalistic interior design. Such clean lines and white walls, floor to ceiling windows and bright rooms throughout the house looking out onto the lush green greenery outside. At least, I'm not only thinking boys (phew!). Ahhh... it's beautiful!

favor boxes

I'm loving these ideas for our favor boxes. We had a fantastic meal at Hidden Kitchen in Paris last year. At the end of the night, they served tea and coffee with petit fours and they were this ultra cute and yummy treats in a silver box. I've sorta taken that as an inspiration for our favor boxes. No way are we going to be able to afford silver boxes but these ones here will be perfect for our chocolate favors. Is it too obvious that we're chocoholics??

Right at this very moment, our chocolate favors consist of rocky roads and this DIY chocolate pretzel. Maybe some chocolates from Haighs and a rum ball? I was going to compartmentalised the boxes so the different favors can have their own sections in the box.
I'm still trying to figure out how to fit the pretzel in the box. I'll be customising my favor boxes to model the silver boxes but I don't think it'll fit the pretzel still. Maybe we just have to swap it for something else instead. Chocolate marshmallows maybe?? Or hazelnut chocolate fudge. Maybe this awesome Homemade Turtles! Any other ideas??

headpieces
Since I have been scouring the internet for headpieces for my engagement shoot, I thought I might as well keep a folder of headpieces I love for the wedding should I choose to wear them. I'm definitely not having a veil, so it's either a birdcage veil, fascinator or nothing at all. Not surprisingly, most of them are beautifully handmade pieces from Etsy. And I love every single one of them. Why can't all wedding budget be infinite?!

Have you heard this song on Gossip Girl where the boys are playing football at Nat’s grandfather’s place?? They were looking hot! And the song is such a catchy tune… I have never searched for songs off tv shows before but there are websites dedicated to Gossip Girl’s songs!! It’s crazee…
end of the easter break
I'm stuffed from all that eating. We all chipped in cooking up a feast this long weekend - none of us went hungry. Mum whipped up all my favourite meals which are pretty much everything she cooks and I baked loads of cookies. We didn't end up doing the muffins as we originally planned because mum didn't have the bakeware at home and some of the other ingredients that we needed it and well, the shops are closed for Easter (duh!) and Mr R made some fantastic chorizo pasta.
And then I spent all day and night with my beloved, spoilt and pampered doggie. Oh, he's getting old... he used to be sooo much like Marley but now that he's older, he's mellowed now and I can bring him out for walks without a leash and he'll stay close by instead of running into oblivion. Isn't he just gorgeous?

easter
Ahh, long weekend!! We're off to my parents' place this Easter. Mum's gonna cook up some home cooked goodness and I'm going to try this cupcake recipe out and play with my lovely lovely dog. I'm going to try stay away from any Easter bunny chocolates though coz I've had too much of it already this week.
I hope you all have a wonderful long weekend and I'll see you next week!

old style colonial houses
Elizabeth FarmI happened to chance upon the Historic Houses Trust website today. They have a collection of houses and museums that you can hire for functions, weddings being one of them. I knew these houses existed but I didn't know that you can actually hire them out. I think the Vaucluse House and the Elizabeth Farm - Australia's oldest surviving homestead would be really pretty for a wedding too.
