monday surprise

Spring doesn't officially start until tomorrow but the cherry blossoms are blooming already. I can't wait... the smell of flowers blooming, my herb garden hopefully sprouting and the sun finally warming up my bones!

And I know I've been MIA in the blog world lately. Sorry guys but I'll be back soon, I promise. Just have a lot of things going on my plate at the moment. :>

camera class

If anyone is wondering how my photography class is going, it's awesome! I'm halfway through it now and loving every minute of it. I finally know how to use my camera! It's a great way to get a start into photography because you're learning the technical aspect in a structured manner, not blindly feeling your way around like what I was doing before.

I just gotta find more time to take pictures since the only time I have are weekends. Bummer!

days like this

Mr R and I had a long weekend away back in January for his birthday. We spent three glorious day in a cabin deep in the mountains with no access to the phone or the internet. It was heaven sent! We went for walks, saw kangaroos and goats and rabbits, watch a whole season of 24 (our favourite!), ate a gluttony of good food and well, as corny as it sounds, just enjoy each other's company.

This picture reminds me of it. I think we're due another long weekend away, hun. ;)

copper and pink

I fell in love with this copper and blush pink inspiration board the first time I saw it on snipperandink. I still love it.... to me, it personifies understated elegance. Soft and quiet yet so pretty. But at the same time, I associate this colours with autumn than spring so unless I can get the colours to work for our spring wedding in my head, I might have to let copper go.

back to it

The time off was great but it's time to get back to planning the wedding again. Yay! The game plan for this month will be to:
  • print the address labels for our save the dates (we've not send Ryan's save the dates yet)
  • visit the flower market
  • come up with some designs for our invitation card and favor boxes
  • do at least two trial run of chocolate brownies
  • most importantly, decide on a colour scheme. We've put this off for far too long now!!

monday surprise: city to surf

It was my first time at the City to Surf yesterday. I've never been fussed about the whole run thingy but it was actually a really enjoyable day! Bondi Beach was just teeming with people!! I had this plan of playing with my camera and hopefully capturing some really cool pics but the place was absolutely packed and by the time I got there, a lot of runners have actually finished! Even Ryan finished! *red face*

And there was soooo many friends there that I haven't seen for ages so we ended up gouging ourselves with free food and just chatting our silly self away.

akaneya

This place has a special place in my heart. Ryan brought me here on our first lunch date. It is just a stone throw from our work and serves fantastic Japanese. The only thing is after that lunch date, we've not been back! Since this was our anniversary month, I had a sudden longing to go back so after work last Friday, we stopped by for a meal and ended up stuffing our bellies to the brim!

harry potter & transformers

The blockbusters' season is upon us and Ryan is excited like it's Christmas! You see, he is a big film buff and there are some really fantastic movies out this winter. Like Harry Potter and Transformers 2. And with all the computer generated images, you really have to go watch it on the big screen to appreciate it.

So we headed out to watch those two movies on the weekend. I'm not a cinema fan but I have to admit that ever since that refurbishment, those seats at George Street cinemas have indeed improved ten fold. And the movies were awesome!! Don't ask me to pick a favourite because I can't and I won't. They're two different movies in their own genres.

Ryan's already waiting for the next big movie coming out. GI Joe, I think it is. While I am waiting for New Moon in November. :)
