the birthday boy

It's the second year in a row that Ryan's had to be overseas for work on his birthday. Such a waste too as his birthday falls on Australia Day which is a public holiday is Australia but because he's overseas, he's had to work instead. Booo...

We had a small celebration at home just the two of us the day he got back and I went all out and made him a feast when he got home from his trip. Chilled cucumber soup, scallop ceviche, pan fried salmon and Eton's mess.

Oh, and his lemon meringue birthday cake. I wished I could brag that I made it but I didn't. Searched all over the city for a cafe that sold one though. Hehe....

prolonging the holiday

@ home with Dingo. 

I'm house-sitting at my parents' house while they go back home to Malaysia for my grandmother's 80th birthday celebration. The only and last time we left Dingo all by himself was back in April 2010 when we all went back for the family wedding and there was no other choice but to put Dingo up in a boarding kennel for just over a week where he apparently howled night and day thinking that we'd deserted him. Needless to say, he was very relieved and overjoyed when Dad picked him up. 

It's the first time in close to 10 years that I've spent more than 3 days at home and I'd like to think that Dingo is enjoying my company tremendously. I spent a few hours grooming him and playing catch with him and taking him out for walks every second day. I'm going to miss him when my parents come back and I go back to the city. 

my 2010 recap

Now that I've finally gotten our honeymoon posts out of the way, I thought it's time (albeit very late) to do a 2010 review because even though there were some tough choices to be made during the year and a few lows, 2010 has been overall an epic year for us. Here goes:

Apr
Made the tough decision to quit work for a while. Had our mini-moon in Nikoi Island which was amazing before flying back to KL to have our wedding for my side of the family. Had a backpacking trip around Cambodia, shopped and feasted in Bangkok and then popped into Chennai for a friend's wedding.

Jul
Won a trip to Vanuatu for a week which included a scuba diving course. It's our first time in the South Pacific ever. I am now a certified scuba diver!

Aug
Travelled back home for my best friend's wedding, spent time with family, celebrated my birthday with them instead of Ryan this year and took a side trip to Hong Kong and Taiwan

Oct
Got married to my best friend, my lover, my twice-already-married-to-me husband for the very final time at the most beautiful place in Sydney.

Nov-Dec
Spent the next two months honeymooning around South America and Coastal California.

Ahhh, 2010 was a fantabulous for us!
