Happy New Year everybody!! Did you do anything exciting to bring in the New Year? The hubs and I stayed home and watched the last season of 24 and prepared for Maxxie to be absolutely terrified of the noise from the fireworks but in the end he was non-plussed about it all! How funny!
The two of us been flat out busy in December and I'd imagined most of you probably felt the same with organising get togethers, putting up Christmas decorations, buying presents. Here's a lil of what we got up to last month:
date night!! this time last year, we were halfway around the world on our honeymoon. we've been missing the food that we sampled during our time there and recently, the hubs discovered
The Dip, serving hotdogs and buffalo wings here in sydney! yummo!
this time every year, we've always been somewhere overseas, dipping our toes into some marvelous adventure and so on our honeymoon last year we agreed that this year, we'd be spending christmas at home and so here we are with our very first christmas tree ever!
more date nights and outings with friends
meet maxxie, the new addition to our household. you and i know that i've been wanting a pet cat for a long long time. after dingo passed away back in august, i didn't think it was right to get a new pet so soon after but i've been eyeing him on the petrescue sites for months and one day, ryan woke up and said he wanted a cat too! i freaked out a lil because i never thought this day would ever come. took us another month but he's in our life now. because he's soooo ridiculously timid and gentle, his foster carer thinks that he might have been abused in the past but he's doing so well with us. he loves coming up for pats and playing catch (the mouse, i think). and last week, we caught him sleeping with abandonment! we thought the lil guy never slept! i have had to learn to be super duper patient with him too since i always want to carry and cuddle him and he'll be timidly trying to get away from me. i already love the guy to bits!

eating gourmet chocolates at work and getting a desk gnome from the boss for christmas! wa hey!!
i must have been a good girl this year because I got some really awesome pressies from santa this year!! yay!! i also got some stuff off the zara uk website and my in laws are gonna forward them over to me. can't wait!!
we had a traditional aussie feast on christmas day with the family. just so you know, it's all seafood. allow me to gloat while i say this - the sydney fish market is but a hop, skip and jump away from our place so we didn't have to get up ridiculously early and brave the traffic jams and the crowds like the rest of sydney to get the glorious feast above. :)
my mum's playing wii. can you believe it? ahhh, she wasn't very good at it but she was a good sport. then we all lazed around and watched spooks! mum and dad are hooked on it now.
christmas eve picnic with friends at nielsen park! i made cupcakes and the weather was just perfection! we've been in a grey and rainy rut for over a month here in sydney until that morning so it was very nice to have beautiful weather on christmas eve (and christmas day too!). and then i got rbt-ed. if i have to say, this was the most exciting bit because i have never been pulled over ever in my life! look at the policewoman, she was just as excited as i was! ;)
art decorating is underway in our household! on the left are pictures that we've put up in the entrance way, and on the left is our living area. it's been a slow but steady process and i'm loving every moment of it. i'll post more about it in the new year!!
2011 was a rollercoaster ride for me so now that we're in 2012, I'm making goals to stabilise my life, like saving some moolah, finding a more permanent role and finishing off that last CPA module. So adult-ish, I know. What are your new year's resolutions???
