We received a gift voucher to go kayaking and finally had a chance to use it. It was in Bundeena, which is about an hours’ drive from Sydney.
Bundeena is a really interesting suburb. It is tucked away in the middle of the Royal National Park and we were so surprised when we got there to find a suburb of homes. It feels so secluded, like you’re in another world. I think it would be quite lovely to live somewhere like this, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
We went kayaking with Bundeena Kayaks and we had a lovely time. It was just two of us on the kayaks with no guides but it was easy enough to paddle around. The sun came out and shone its hot sunny rays on us, the sky was blue as can be and we saw tonnes of fishes, a pelican and plenty of egrets as we paddled through the waters.
With plenty of time on our hands, we spotted a solitary beach in the distance. We felt like explorers! We decided to check it out and ended up spending a few hours there, chasing blue soldier crabs around before paddling back to home base and rewarding ourselves a Magnum Gold ice cream each. It was such an amazing experience and definitely something we would love to do again in the future!
