You might have realised that we always like to treat ourselves to a meal in a nice restaurant in each place that we go and so, Bistro Soori was our pick in Singapore. It was also Mr R’s belated birthday present since he was away for work back in January and I was busy with year end work stuff.
Maybe I picked all the right things because I enjoyed my meal but Mr R thought his was pretty ordinary. Service was brusque though and because it was an open kitchen, you could see everything that was going on and from where we were sitting, it looked like the chef was pretty much venting at his staff for most of the night. Oh well, at least it was good entertainment, so much so that you forgot about the sub par service.

I went for the foie gras and the lobster and omg, the foie gras was just amazing. I’ve only ever had cold foie gras but this one was lightly seared so it was warm and you could taste the smokiness and paired with the pear, it was heaven on a plate. It was so bad (I was thinking about my cholesterol level the whole time) but so good that I licked the plate clean!
I don’t remember very much of the lobster except that I did enjoy it. Anything with tomato and I’m a happy camper. The thai basil gave it an Asian zing so it was definitely a win win dish for me. Poor Mr R, he wasn’t too impressed with his choices though so we decided to give dessert a miss and head on home. For me, I would probably head back there again… it’ll be interesting to see if there will be any more drama in the kitchen area for entertainment. Hehe… I love these kinda things.
